my work continues to change. having painted numerous portraits, i then began exploring abstraction through photography, and most recently moved the line between realism and abstraction. i still play with scale.
i still enjoy examining some of the smaller things that go unnoticed, bringing them into focus at sizes far greater than they exist in reality.
in life it seems, it is what we spend our time noticing that becomes bigger to us than it actually is in reality. this is one of the ironies of obsession.
I have been surrounded by pop culture my entire life. I live it and add to it when writing songs. In my recent paintings, I am fascinated by studying small and often overlooked every day subjects, and enlarging them beyond their natural states, transforming them into something entirely different and new.
